Scott Ross
/ Elliott Bay Recording Company (recording)
Elliott Bay Recording
Company is a large 2,200 sq. foot recording facility in
the Capitol Hill district of Seattle, Washington, just 5
minutes from downtown. A Sony DMX-R100 digital console
and a Pro Tools HD system are the centerpieces of the
acoustically designed control room. A huge playing room
(23'X45'X13') with concrete walls adds a great natural
reverb to any instrument. There are three isolation
rooms, the main one (19'X23'X11') is large enough to
hold several musicians. The control room (19'X23'X11')
is designed so that many musicians at one time can be
comfortable. This is the studio I prefer to work with
FSRP clients in. Scott and I work faster and better
together than any one else I have ever worked with in my
career. Hands down, my favorite engineer and my favorite
studio.
Mark Allan
Miller / Slaughterhouse Studios (mastering)
Mark Alan Miller is a jack
of many trades and a master of quite a few. He's known
as one of the Northeast's foremost engineers and
producers. Mark is the owner and lead engineer at
Slaughterhouse Recording Studio in Westhampton, MA. He's
worked with Dinosaur Jr., The Stone Coyotes, Drunk
Stuntmen, Pernice Brothers, and Sebadoh, as well as
almost the entire Pigeon Records roster, just to name a
few. With regard to his musical identity as Out Out, his
musicianship is distinctly electronic, and his forays
into the realm of really high frequency manipulation,
are both rewarding and disturbing. His creativity shines
forth in layers; poundingly playful beats underscored by
a high-wire balancing act of synths, guitars, and plenty
of cool and unexplored samples, with intense and
punctuating vocal performances guiding you all the
while. His mastering skills are amazing and I highly
advise all clients to use Mark as the Mastering
Engineer.
Peter Fernandez
- Keyboards, Bass, Arrangements, Preproduction
Peter is the Co-Founder of
Brain Grenade Entertainment and an incredible musician.
With his experience in diverse styles as well as writing
in numerous genres of music as well as writing musical
theatre, plays and short films, Peter brings a broad
sense of ideas and approaches to supplement arrangements
and assist artists and bands with additional ideas that
can really refine and define the songs you are working
on. His approach is tasteful, musical and considerate to
the artists creation and vision.

Merrilee Rush, Theodore Bikel, Peter Duchin, Leslie
Gore, The Von Trapp Children, Lee Oskar, OhNo,
Underground Resistance, Leroy Bell, Clare Fischer, Todd
Simon, and composer David Matthews. Murl is amazing and
always brings quality, musicianship and taste to every
project he is brought in to.
Clipper
Anderson (Bass)
Clipper Anderson is one of
the Northwest’s leading bassists. Playing all styles on
acoustic and electric bass, Clipper is a composer,
studio musician, vocalist, and educator. He was
described in Seattle’s premier jazz magazine Earshot as
“a player for the connoisseur to savor.” The list of
recordings on which Clipper appears is both long and
impressive. He has performed with jazz artists Michael
Brecker, Randy Brecker, Terry Gibbs, Peter Erskine, Bob
Berg, James Moody, Jack Jones, Paquito D’Rivera, and
Buddy DeFranco. Clipper appears at jazz festivals
throughout the Northwest and Canada and has been a
featured guest artist annually at the Buddy DeFranco
Jazz Festival at the University of Montana and the Port
Townsend (WA) Jazz Festival. He currently teaches jazz
bass studies at Pacific Lutheran University. Clipper is
a must if you are in need of a bass player.
Johnny

“JC” Johnny Conga
has been performing for 41 years, as a
“multi-percussionist-specialist”, in the Art of
Afro-Caribbean Drumming. Some of the Artists that “JC”
have worked with, cover the gamut of “styles” in music.

Max Cohen (Acoustic and electric guitars, fingerstyle)
Max usually hits the mark;
this becomes breath-takingly evident when you listen to
him. An accomplished fingerstyle guitar player, Max has
been playing and writing for guitar for more than twenty
years. His musicianship has drawn accolades from critics
and fans alike. Compositionally, Max is always aiming
for something to engage the listener - a melody with
staying power, a clever twist, a poignant harmony. His
exquisite attention to detail is what distinguishes him.
Technically precise, Max is capable of "virtuoso speed"
(according to Guitar Player Magazine), but he doesn't
overplay. As one anonymous listener commented, "what I
love about Max is that he can play a thousand notes a
second, and he knows exactly when not to."
Chad Quist (Guitars)
Chad grew up in the Bay
Area where he began playing piano at age five. He took
up guitar at ten and began studying with Jimmy Lyons
(Eddie Money), Terry Maderas (Starship) and Jack
Eskridge, along with other local Bay Area instructors.
From age seventeen to nineteen Chad attended Berklee
College of Music in Boston. There he studied music
theory, composition and all styles of guitar
performance.
After his college years, Chad relocated to Seattle. His
talents for being adept at many styles on stage or in
the studio were soon sought after by the top local acts,
from the top-40 scene, to casuals and record work, doing
everything from rock, pop and country to fusion and
jazz. Some highlights were playing with local favorites
where he had the chance to perform on stage with Kenny
G, The Platters and Martha and the Vandellas. These
experiences led to gigs opening shows for artists such
as Ray Charles, Tower Of Power, George Benson, Rick
Derringer, Head East, Diane Schuur, Dave Grusin, Lou
Rawls, Larry Carlton, Basia, Huey Lewis and Jamie Foxx.

CD Baby CD Baby is a little online record store that sells
albums by independent musicians.
[In•de•pen•dent: (adj.) Not having sold one's life,
career, and creative works over to a corporation.]
We're just a bunch of people in a cool Portland, Oregon,
warehouse that looks like a playground. We listen to
every album we sell before we sell it, so we can help
you find other albums you'll like.
We only sell music that comes directly from the
musicians. No distributors. Musicians send us their
music. We digitize and warehouse, sell them to you, and
pay the musicians directly.
Cool thing: in a regular record deal or distribution
deal, musicians only make $1-$2 per album, if they ever
get paid by their label. When selling through CD Baby,
musicians make $6-$12 per album, and get paid weekly.
In business, and thriving, since March 1998. We're one
of the largest sellers of independent music on the web.
