The purpose is to help those that do not play drums communicate better with their drummers or the drummers that they hire when creating, performing and recording songs.

Many musicians and songwriters often complain about drummers not playing the right part or not playing the song the way they want it. This clinic/ discussion is designed to empower and teach artists to use and extend their vocabulary of drums in order to better describe, explain and ask for what they want in a song or songs.

The clinic will include explanation as well as demonstration of...

	Different styles and mixture of styles.
	Different patterns and approaches.
	Different feels and applications for them.
	Fills, embellishments and dynamics.
	Ostinatos, Stickings and Linear playing simply explained.
	The basic 3's of motions, embellishments and dynamics.
	Supplementing and complementing ideas for songs.
	Busy vs. Simple playing and Loud vs. Soft playing
	Tuning ideas and creative set ups to get the sounds you want.
	How different drummers, drums/heads and cymbals can effect the sound.
	A brief overview on how to mic drums and where to record them.
	When should you rent drums and what kind
	Using sticks, brushes, rods, mallets, hands or mixture of tools.
	Hiring or finding the right drummer for your music.

The best phrases, words and ways to get the point across about how you want your song to sound along with working with a drummer on combining your ideas and their ideas to create the best song possible.

Simple and easy to understand terminology to give the artist a better vocabulary, understanding and comprehension of the drums and how to explain what the artist is looking for in the easiest way possible.

Bring your note pads, recording devices and cameras to get the most out of this event. Make sure to bring a pair of ear plugs too. This will be a mixture of talking and drumming demonstration.

Again, this is a drum clinic for non-drummers, for artists that work with or hire drummers and want to communicate better to get across what they want in their songs.
