Starting with the company or me is very easy, and the commitment is small. I like to work with artists in sections and with invoices, instead of contracts and extended time frames. After you have read through some of the blogs, filled out the initial question form, and had an initial consult, I advise artists to take a little time, digest it all and see if this is the direction they want to go in.

The first step, and first invoice, is the preproduction business plan. This costs $1000.00, and can be paid in full, in two payments of $525.00, or broken up over four months with four payments of $300.00. A small interest amount is added for the longer payment periods. This is a cost that would equal out to be well over $10,000.00 by regular industry standards.

This includes a comprehensive business plan and an action plan, to execute everything from preproduction to recording, marketing layouts to promotional set up, branding to logo design and web layouts, as well as all elements of post production, and justifications for every single cost. The average plan ends up being around 45 pages.

This cost also includes 10 meetings, by phone or in person, to create the blueprint you can use for your album, and either the plan to move it from an independent approach or the foundational plan to solicit your album and your group to different labels. You will be assisted in putting together the best blueprint and plan possible for your career.

At the end of this phase you will have a business plan, which you will be able to apply, whether you choose to move on with me or not. You will have all the pieces in place to execute an effective and productive plan, to find the funding you need. You will have the intricacies and details, down to the penny, to record and release your album, and you will have the post-production plan to advertise, market and distribute your music, and yourself, as a brand.

The business plan invoice is exactly that… an invoice. There is no contract, nothing says you have to work any further with me or Brain Grenade Entertainment, and nothing says I have to work any further with you. We work in stages. If it feels good, we continue to the next stage, if it doesn’t, we part ways. You have your plan and you can apply it with others, and I go to work with other artists.

After the plan is done, if things feel good, we move to the next phases. There are no contracts, only invoices. We work together in a system that keeps the artist in sole control. The initial deposit or payment of the invoice activates the plan’s beginning. The usual time for a completed plan is 5 to 8 weeks. However, artists working faster and getting information back expediently can see completed plans in as soon as two to four weeks.
