This page is mainly for the clients of Brain Grenade Entertainment LLC and those working with Loren Weisman that might be having some trouble, some setbacks or just feeling a little overwhelmed when it comes to their project. However, these are ideas that can be used by any one going after a dream and help reorganize and problem solve the best ways to either follow through on your current plan, adjust your approach or adjust your work load and problem solving methods. First off whether you have never read them, or read them once, these are a few of the best blogs to review and go back to in order to help keep you on track or get you back on the track and path you want. First remember what you are doing and why you are doing it. People forget about the basics and when you forget about the long term then the short term short cuts seem acceptable. Too many people get flustered and frustrated and then cut the corners in the early stages that end up being devastating to he project down the line. So remember the moment you are in but also think about how changes will effect tomorrow, next week, next moth and next year. Second, think about what you need to be most effective for yourself. This can come down to things well beyond the music and the plan. How is your diet? How is your health? How is your mental state? Everyone is different and everyone needs different things to flourish and succeed. One person might need a massage to release stress and help to stay focused while another person might need counseling or meetings with a coach or therapist to get in to the right mind set and work set to be as effective and productive as possible. A third person might not need anything but it is good to look inside yourself and realize what steps you need to take or things you need to apply to allow you to achieve the short term and long term goals you are going after. On the same note, what do you need for support when things get rough? What kind of things, support or help do you need when you are worn down, tired, frustrated and just want to quit? These are good things to know because these are feelings hat will happen all through out your career. So addressing the problems and knowing the problem solving techniques now can only help down the road. WATER IS COMING IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BOAT Ok the honeymoon is over. You are deep in the project and now realizing it is going to take more than a positive attitude and take a little more time than you thought. Maybe the investors or donors you thought would fund the project in the first week, well…didn’t. The work you thought would be easy is now a little harder. And guess what? If you are in the music business, it will be hard for a long time on different levels and areas. So the best things you can do are
Face it now Problem solve and plan Execute And watch for patterns that work, don’t work and when they are occurring as well as what happens to make them occur. Where people have gone right and where they have gone wrong with this program. Here are the top successful attributes and the top unsuccessful attributes which have hurt projects to help you think about where you are, what you are doing and how to lean toward the effective and stay away from what has shown to be completely ineffective. So the first step is to review some blogs and articles that might be helpful. Here are five that can help put certain things in prospective and define issues or problems that may have taken you off your path or in the wrong direction.
Some helpful blogs to read as you are both underway or feel a little of a stall. 2 Drive and determination are far from enough 3 Delaying instant gratification for long term success 5 But they aren’t doing it, why should I?
It is important to continually stay focused and remember the goal. A few tips that can take only a couple minutes a day but at the same time will help inspire…. 1. Read part of your FSRP plan every single day. When you know the plan in and out, it will be easier to talk about it. It is a long document and checking in with it daily even for a few minutes can help you memorize and let different ideas sink in easier for handling questions and concerns of potential investors and donors. 2. Read one of the blogs every day. Read one of the blogs that Loren has written. There are a number of different blogs up there that can keep you in check but also give you different ideas and reminders to use with people that can support you as well as ideas for your music and preparing for the studio. 3. Make a plan that stretch out over days and weeks. Not hours. While you are producing, practicing, writing, creating, calling, fundraising or whatever else you are working on. Go for the endurance and the continuity instead of the bulk and the immediate. Instead of contacting 15 people in a single day with letters that you rush through to edit and personalize taking up all sorts of extra time, send out three letters a day over five days. This way you are spreading out things and making life much much easier for your self as well as helping to keep you from burning out. The multitasking and spreading out of work will give you the endurance you need to maintain these actions longer. 4. Take a number of different approaches. Do not just sit in one approach for the way you write music, practice, raise funds or what ever else you are working on. Make sure to apply and plan numerous approaches. It is the old story of not putting all your eggs in one basket. Working on different ideas from different angles will help you get the most out of any single plan while you are implementing numerous plans all at once. 5. Communicate – Ask for help – Talk it out! Don’t try to carry the world on your shoulders. It is way too damn heavy. Write down every question you have. Find the information you need to have to be as effective as you possibly can be. Call and email to get the answers and don’t just wait for meetings. Keep the energy in a good place, stalling or waiting can only hurt your confidence and your endurance.
